I've recently had the opportunity to work with a young up-and-coming artist from Toronto who goes by the name of "Young Cake." This is my first time working with this artist.

Young Cake first approached me when he noticed the strength and audio and creative quality of previous work that I’ve done for other artists in and around the city. Young Cake is a very talented artist and an amazing lyricist with the ability to vividly paint pictures through his words. His unique ability to take listeners along with him on his journey allows them to submerge themselves into his story through his music.

I had the opportunity of mixing and mastering his mixtape “Cake Is Here 3.” I am very proud of the outcome of this project and when I am proud of my work I spread it everywhere. A huge part of this successful outcome was because of the artists professionalism, as well as being able to take constructive criticism. Working with a talented artist such as Young Cake, combined with my experience as an Audio Engineer, allowed us to put together and complete a very high quality project in a short period of time.

Dance Music Has Taken The World By Storm!!!

Dance music seemed to have taken the world by storm, every song nowadays that I hear on the radio seems to all have the 4 on the floor pattern with some fancy lead synths fx. It has really found a place where it fits in perfectly and has also cross genres really well especially in the urban music genre. What I really love about this type of music is all the boundaries it breaks down. And there’s so much more you can do when composing a dance track. You get to use up all your fx, your bit crushers etc… and go nutz that’s what I really love about it.

Ever since I got my hands on the “Maschine” I haven’t been able to put it down. The stock sounds aren’t super amazing, but that’s ok as I normally bring in my own samples or design sounds from scratch. What I’m really blown away by is the workflow, it’s so smooth and keeps your production flowing which makes it so much easier to stay in your creative zone once you get going. The ability to host vst plug-ins and virtual instruments means the possibilities are endless. I was able to pick up the Maschine and within a week you would have thought I was using it for years.
